Why I have to do sport
June 24th, 2010 , by Stefan PauleweitTo answer the comment from Ulf and tell you about the last days. When I'm back I'll be not more sportive than before, regardless I'm doing a lot of sports now. There is a simple reason: I eat a lot and this food contains often a lot of calories! Well let me try to explain this. In Rostock you'll get your lunch in our awesome epic Mensa. It is normally a warm meal. Here on the North Campus is only a small coffee shop. That means I can choose between different sandwiches. After 2 weeks I need real food, seriously. Accidentally I bought a bred toast with a brand form people watching their weight and counting points... This was just a conglomeration of air holes, wrapped by half backed meal thin like a cell membran. If you compress the whole 400g bread to a high of 1cm, you'll get the consistence of a german bread! But I have to eat at lunch time and so I killed at once (air don't fill the stomach). However, since I bought a frying pan and a pot I'm also able to cook for myself. And I can cook! Stupidly I have to cook in the evening when I'm really hungry and I cook not really low fat food. Warm fatty self made meal in the evening... And as a dessert I eat half a kilogram carrots or grapes and additionally one or two apples. Additionally
Sport? Yes!
June 19th, 2010 , by Stefan PauleweitOk, it is still not possible to go for healthy running here, but Mashid and Goodarz (my office colleagues) recommended to go to the Goodwin Sportscenter. Until tomorrow I'm going for swimming and fitness. More precisely only for swimming because I'll get an instruction to the gym on Monday. That may become funny, because of my language skills. Amy, if you read this, the people here don't have an accent, it simply a different language. In fact my passive English isn't sufficient very often, especially if the conversation is only one or two sentence long...
However, I really looking forward to doing sports. The center is 25min away. Unfortunately it is straight uphill all the time. This is an pre-exercise before sport for me. And the best thing: they charge only 30£ for the first month.

Love, Respect and Peace
June 15th, 2010 , by Stefan PauleweitNext to the Weston Park is the Crookes Valey Park. Nothing special, and also nothing for jogging, but I saw people first time playing Bowls in real life. It is a very traditional game here and another one what looks boring in the tv nevertheless it's thrilling.
The alternative festival next to the park promised more entertainment...
Sport?
June 14th, 2010 , by Stefan PauleweitAs some of you know, I love snooker, despite I didn't play for ages.
But here it is: The dignified Crucible Theater, location of the annual Snooker World Championship.
Unfortunately I'm too late and I got the story about John Higgins. I don't want believe that!
However, as some other people know, I also like to go jogging. In Rostock I had to take a longer break because I twisted my foot ankle... two times in series. But I carried all of my equipment with me. Now I searched for a nice track. There is the Weston Park, 15-20min away, but in my opinion nothing for running.
